ARGOMENTO:

Buonasera a tutti.
Come ho già chiesto nella live chat, ho un problema con l'elaborazione su WCG. Il log degli eventi mi dice che la mia connessione è OK, ma il BOINC Manager non riesce a comunicare con i server di WCG. Oggi mi dava l'errore "Server is out of space disk", che da come interpreto io probabilmente non hanno più spazio per ricevere WU elaborate (?)
Io nel frattempo ho un mucchio di WU pronte per essere spedite, ma stanno per scadere quindi suppongo che andranno tutte a farsi friggere. E intanto il PC continua ad elaborare...sta cosa è paradossalmente esilarante
Non saprei come agire per risolvere questo problema quindi vi chiedo gentilmente se potete darmi una mano che voi siete molto più esperti di me. Grazie comunque in anticipo a chi mi risponderà.

I haven't participated in WCG since the transfer to Kembril. They say the whole datacenter is down. I wonder what that means. If the servers and storage in the datacenter are down the that could present another technical issue. DId the Kembril technical team build the storage with some sort of filesystem recovery or redundant hardware. If power dropped suddenly and data in buffers weren't written to storage then they will have an inconsistent filesystem that may need to be recovered. Hopefully, it can be fixed with FSCK. For those of us who were part of the older WCG contributers, we remember when uplinger or reed would do a FSCK and it would run for almost a day. Maybe the "entire datacenter is down" just means no network access to the facility which would be better in the long run. I don't have faith in Kembril's technical staff

Thank you very much for your explanation, for real, but for my knowledge it's really too technical and, anyway, I really don't know what this step in Kembril is. I'm sorry but I don't follow much, as I said, it's enough for me to give my contribution. Forgive me but I only partially understood what you told me, but I'm sure it's an authoritative answer as a much more experienced connoisseur than me.
However I have seen these days they are slowly restoring the servers, so I am confident that everything will return to normal in the short term.
