Hello everyone,
I just finished speaking with Project Leader Pascale Tricarico on the telephone.

He says he is still waiting for an official answer from NASA on his funding request.

NASA had said that they would try to push for an early answer in October if possible, but that did not happen. Arranging proper funding is complicated for NASA. The U.S. Congress has been cutting back, rather than giving, so this may take some additional time.

Pascale still expects to get an official answer from NASA some time this year.

He thanks us for our patience, and asks that we please remain attached to this project.

My thanks to all of you. :)

Oggi hanno ricevuto notizia riguardo alla loro proposta, alla NASA, di finanziare il loro progetto. La loro proposta non è stata selezionata per il finanziamento. È stato valutato come altamente sperimentale e non atto a produrre un sostanziale miglioramento nella scoperta di asteroidi rispetto alle strategie di ricerca attuali.

Rimangono dedicati a questo progetto e continueranno a cercare una possibile strada per il supporto ma impiegheranno approssimativamente un ulteriore anno per sentire dal prossimo round di proposte.

Ringraziano tutti gli utenti che hanno atteso lungamente delle buone notizie per vedere riprendere le attività di questo progetto. Hanno perso questa opportunità ma ce ne saranno delle altre.

Aggiornamento situazione su Orbit

We are upgrading the orbit@home server.

A new version of the system is in the works, and we expect to bring it online in the 2014-2015 period.

All BOINC processes related to orbit@home are stopped at this time.

With the upgrade, a fresh BOINC system will be installed, and all users will have to re-register in order to continue to contribute to the orbit@home project.


si continua a posticipare l'avvio del progetto.

Riuscirà mai a farcela ??
