Ho da qualche giorno installato Boinc e dopo 2 WU Seti@Home analizzate è morto.
E' da 2 giorni che non ricevo WU ed inoltre mi da sempre comunicazione rinviata.
Ho provato a partecipare ad un altro progetto, Rosetta, ma idem, lo stesso problema. Nessuna WU e comunicazione rinviata.
Qual'è il problema?

Ciao, così senza ulteriori informazioni è difficile capire ma sembra un problema di comunicazione con i server.

Riesci a copiare i messaggi che ti da BOINC?
PC1: Intel Q9400 2.66 GHz, ASUS P5KC, nVidia GeForce 9400GT (smontata al momento), ATI HD5850, maxtor 250 GB, 4 GB ram Kingston.

Ieri hai detto che avevi scaricato la prima WU quindi è un problema temporaneo di dialogo tra il pc ed il server.
Potresti provare ad aumentare la riserva di lavoro per non rimanere senza lavoro.
Lo fai da Strumenti > Preferenze di elaborazione > Uso della rete

Potresti provare a mettere 1/2 giorni.

Questo mi puzza, riverifica dalle impostazioni di dare un po di disponibilità di spazio su disco. ;)

Dalle preferenze di Boinc sono andato su "Uso del disco e della memoria" e ho settato cosi:


Usa al massimo 20,00 Gb di spazio sul disco
Lascia come minimo 10,00 Gb di spazio sul disco
Usa al massimo il 90% dello spazio totale del disco
Scrivi sul disco al massimo ogni 60 secondi
Usa al massimo il 75% del file di paging

Usa al massimo il 50% quando il computer è in uso
Usa al massimo il 90% quando il computer non è in uso

Ciao, aspetta qualcuno più esperto di me, ma io vedo alcune righe strane.

Prima cosa la versione 20/01/2014 09:53:01 Starting BOINC client version 6.6.38 for windows_intelx86 che è abbastanza vecchiotta, infatti SETI ti dice più volte 20/01/2014 10:35:15 SETI@home Message from server: A newer BOINC may be required for some tasks.

E poi anche: 20/01/2014 10:35:15 SETI@home Message from server: SETI@home v7 needs 32.00MB more disk space. You currently have 0.00 MB available and it needs 32.00 MB. che se metti insieme a 20/01/2014 10:36:04 Preferences limit disk usage to 0.00GB forse trovi l'inghippo.

Non è che nelle preferenze hai settato ZERO come spazio disco per BOINC?

Comunque è il caso di aggiornare.
Anzi visto che hai le preferenze incasinate forse ti conviene disinstallare e rimuovere la cartella dati (20/01/2014 09:53:01 Data directory: C:\ProgramData\BOINC sempre che non ti chieda di farlo in automatico) così non ti porti dietro niente.
Poi installi da zero l'ultima versione. Non perdi niente perché quando rifai l'attach tutti i tuoi dati vengono riscaricati.

Controlla anche nelle preferenze di SETI e Rosetta di non aver cambiato le impostazioni per il calcolo.
Soprattutto in SETI perché viene letto in automatico (v. inizio del tuo log)

Dipende da che utilizzo principale ha il tuo computer e da che tipo di applicazioni utilizzi.. Casa, lavoro, dedicato allo scaccolo.

Fai un po di prove in modo da vedere che non ti rallenti troppo mentre lavori...
